Wax and Candle Care

Wax & Candle Care

A little care goes a long way — get the most out of every melt and every burn.

Wax Melt Care

To get the best experience from your wax melts, please keep the following tips in mind:

  • Place your warmer on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Never leave the warmer unattended while in use.
  • Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
  • Keep the warmer out of reach of children, pets, and anything flammable.
  • To remove used wax, absorb it with a cotton ball or paper towel while warm. Do not pour wax down the drain — dispose of it in the trash.
  • Each wax melt piece provides approximately 8–12 hours of fragrance.
  • Unlike candles, wax does not evaporate — always remove old wax before adding a new melt.
  • Rotate your fragrances regularly! Using the same scent continuously can cause "nose blindness," making it harder to detect the fragrance over time.

Candle Care

  • Before lighting your candle for the first time, trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch.
  • Allow a full melt pool to form before extinguishing — this prevents tunneling.
  • Trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch before every relight.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children or pets.
  • Do not move a candle while it is lit.
  • Always burn on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Avoid burning for more than 3–4 hours at a time.

Understanding the Melt Pool

Always allow your candle to reach a full melt pool — where the melted wax extends all the way to the edges of the vessel — before extinguishing. This protects the longevity of your candle and ensures the best possible burn.

As a general rule, it takes about 1 hour per inch of vessel diameter for the melt pool to reach the sides. For example, a 3-inch wide vessel may take 3 or more hours to achieve a full melt pool.

Keep in mind that soy wax is a slower-burning wax and does not burn as hot as paraffin. If you extinguish your candle after only an hour, it will tunnel. Always trim your wick to 1/4 of an inch after each burn — a longer wick does not mean a better burn!
