Classes & Workshops

Learn the art of candle making — we come to you.

Below you'll find some general information about our classes. For full details, please contact us using the button at the top of the menu bar or reach out at sweetblisswaxmeltco@gmail.com. Classes start at $30 per person, and the best part — we come to you! I can host the class wherever you can accommodate your group.

General Class Information

All supplies needed to create your own candle or wax melts are included in the cost of your class, workshop, or party.

Pricing is based on the vessel each participant selects, ranging from $30 to $45 per person. Guests may choose their own vessel from a variety of options, or the host may select one vessel style for all participants. A vessel menu will be provided upon booking.

What's Included for Each Participant

  • Vessel of choice
  • Fragrance oil
  • Soy wax
  • Wick, wick stickers, wick application tool & wick centering tool
  • Stirring tool, mixing cup & fragrance oil cup
  • Optional colorants
  • Candle warning label
  • Gloves & disposable apron
  • 2 alcohol wipes
  • Tray
  • Instructional brochure & candle care card
  • Gift box & bag

I also bring a variety of wax embeds — unscented wax melts in various shapes and colors — that can be used as decorative toppers on your candle. If you have a specific shape or design in mind, please let me know at booking or at least 4 days before the event so I can do my best to accommodate.

Fragrances

A curated selection of fragrances will be available to choose from before the event. If your event has a specific theme — such as spa or relaxation — I'll bring a selection to match. My fragrance collection ranges across cereal and food scents, desserts, cocktails, relaxation and uplifting blends, seasonal options, and much more. A fragrance menu will be provided for the host to select what they'd like offered at their class.

Please note: fragrances are first come, first served. If you'd like a specific fragrance reserved, let me know at booking and I'll do my best to accommodate.

The Class Experience

The hands-on candle-making portion of the class — before cooling — runs approximately 30 to 40 minutes. This includes an introduction, a walkthrough of tools and key terms, and then the full candle-making process: measuring wax and fragrance, mixing, adding optional colorants, and pouring into your vessel.

While the candles cool, I'll tidy up the workspace and invite everyone to enjoy their food and beverages. I also run a fun group activity tailored to the type of event — the winner receives a gift card to my website! Participants will also have a variety of labels to choose from to design and personalize their vessel.

Cooling time can range from 45 minutes to about an hour, depending on the environment. The cooler the space, the faster the candles set. For warmer environments, especially in summer, I can provide a small desktop fan for each attendee — just let me know at booking.

Once cooled, I'll use a heat gun to smooth the tops of the candles, eliminating any air bubbles, sinkholes, or craters for a flawless finish. We'll then place the decorative embeds on top, allow a few minutes to set, clean the vessels with alcohol wipes, and apply the custom labels. Your candle may feel slightly warm for a few hours as it continues to cure and fully harden.

I recommend allowing your candle to cure for at least 2 weeks before burning. This gives the fragrance molecules time to fully bond with the wax, resulting in a stronger scent throw and a longer burn. In the meantime, you can leave the candle uncovered and still enjoy the fragrance!

From start to finish, each class runs approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Booking & Logistics

Classes are available any day or time of the week with a minimum of 7 days' notice. A minimum of 6 participants is required. If fewer than 6 attend, the minimum of 6 must still be paid; however, as a gesture of goodwill, the host will receive a $15 credit to my website. If you need to add participants, please let me know as soon as possible — you have until the day before the event to do so. We can currently accommodate a maximum of 12 participants per session. For larger groups, please book at least 2 weeks in advance so we can arrange a second instructor.

Since our classes are mobile and I come to you, I ask that the host or a designated person be available 1 hour before the class to provide access to the venue. I handle all setup and cleanup myself. I provide disposable table coverings, and each guest will have a tray and parchment paper to protect surfaces. Please note that while every precaution is taken, Sweet Bliss Wax Melt Co. is not liable for any damages caused by fragrance oils or wax in the event of a spill.

Hosts and attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring food and beverages — we want this to be a fun, memorable experience, not just a class! Please note that guests must be 21+ to consume alcohol. If you'd like me to provide cookies, snacks, or beverages, I can arrange that for an additional charge.

To book your class, a $100 deposit is required at the time of signing the contract. Payment can be made by credit card, Venmo, Zelle, or cash. The deposit will be returned after full payment is collected at the event. For cancellation and refund details, please refer to the contract.
